The gardens surround the ruined castle of Castle Kennedy and Lochinch Castle (the current home of the Stair family). Huge rhododendrons dominate the garden as well as exotic palm trees. There are two lochs within the grounds which provide a home for geese, swans and ducks.

A beautiful garden in the Rhins, landscaped in the 18th century and featuring a walled garden, glasshouses, tropical plants and a loch. One of the many gardens to host a snowdrop festival every year.

A stunning garden, constructed on the hillside comparatively recently in 1979 and spanning over 12 acres. It has two lochs, great views, resident red squirrels and a wildflower walk.

Knockquhassan Reservoir (Lochs & Reservoirs, Walks)

Reservoir with easy access from Southern Upland Way. Walk either way on the SUW from the reservoir and it's not long before you are rewarded with magnificent views. The reservoir supports fish and attracts many different species of birds.
